Crowns
Topping off a beautiful smile.
A crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that is placed over a tooth to restore and improve its shape, size, strength, and appearance. A crown can restore a tooth when there isn’t enough tooth to support a large filling. It can attach a bridge to replace missing teeth. Crowns are also used to restore a fractured tooth or protect a weak tooth from fracturing. There are cosmetic uses for crowns as well; a badly shaped or discolored tooth can benefit from a crown.
With many metals, the likelihood of sensitivity or allergic reaction can be significant. Gold is one of the strongest, most durable and hypo-allergenic materials. Over 5% of the population is allergic to nickel. The Smile Center uses only certified labs that custom craft crowns using 65% pure gold and no nickel.
If you are in need of a crown, make sure to know the options available to you. We will work with you to find the best solution.
